Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers make thoughtful use of resources they already have. Send proposals through the Contact page, with the reason for writing set to editorial question.
What we welcome
We consider clear, original proposals about planning, reuse, sharing, care and modest making. A good subject works for a broad English-speaking readership and gives readers a useful way to think or act without relying on statistics, specialised credentials or local rules.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the central question, the distinct point you would make and why it is useful to readers. Explain the proposed shape of the piece and any important limits or uncertainties. We prefer a focused subject with a clear purpose to a broad list of tips.
Before sending
Send a short proposal rather than a finished article unless we have requested one. Disclose relevant commercial interests and do not include private information you are not entitled to share. A pitch is not an offer of publication, and we may not be able to respond to every proposal.
